A Reds Player Has Tested Positive for COVID

    Per Rosenthal on Twitter

A Reds player has tested positive for COVID-19, sources tell The Athletic. Team defeated Pirates on Friday night, scheduled to host them again at 6:10 p.m. ET on Saturday. Status of that game not yet known.

Yeah I thought this deserved a thread of it's own. Mostly likely would seem to be Senzel since JR House kind of pulled him off the victory line.

I assume we now start canceling games.

Actually, this could be a blessing in disguise. Two weeks of cancelled games mean the 7 inning double headers the rest of the season.

LOL. What would this mean for the Cardinals? We're scheduled to play them after the Royals. They can't really miss any more games.

Maybe it's the tinfoil on my head but I'd like a second test done stat (of course it has been done) and it's results known ASAP.

Same here. Problem is the results are not known ASAP.

Yeah, with all the false positives I'd like to get the 2nd test results too.

The Reds and the Cardinals will play each other for the rest of the season.

I can see tomorrows game....and even Sunday's postponed....but if nobody else tests positive, I do not see cancellations similar to the Cardinals.

This continues to be the biggest issue with baseball’s testing. The results are taking too long from the one lab they use. Now it has gotten better in the last few weeks but you most likely had player play the whole game tonight and then get a result. Which means you have 2 more teams that will be out of action.

I am about at the end of the rope with covid-19 and baseball. If they cancel even one reds game im probably just going to wash my hands of the 2020 season.

Can I just say how impressed I am that you registered this account 29 months ago and you just made your first post to tell people you won't watch any games if a Reds game is cancelled?
