now they are postponing two games (today's and tomorrow's) because ONE player tested positive?

what an absolute clown show. way to overreact, MLB. one player testing positive was never supposed to lead to a game or games being postponed. they have no idea what they are doing and the plans change by the day. earlier this season, the reds were thought to have three players who had the virus (davidson, moose, senzel) and mlb did nothing. the reds played on. and now, one player tests positive, and they overreact? i shouldn't be surprised, it's just frustrating they cannot come up with a plan and stick with it. one player getting the virus was never supposed to shut down a game.

We actually don't know what the results of the testing are.

I'm upset too guys but it's the right move. Better to nip int in the bud now. We don't want to be the Marlins or Cards and have our roster decimated.

Because he may, between catching it and having a positive test, have inadvertently infected his teammates whose results will not be positive for a week or so. If he's been in close contact with the rest of the team and staff they may be expecting more positives in the coming days...would be my guess.

I don't think any other single player on a team has tested positive though since Juan Soto did on opening day and Davidson shortly after.

If we can debate postponing a couple of baseball games to carefully avoid COVID spread, we can debate literally anything.

It can actually work in our favor too. Moose won't miss a game tonight and it gets us closer to having Strop and Stephenson back, god knows our Bullpen can use the help. Also gives more rest to Bauer and the rest of our starting pitchers who seem like they could use the extra days off given how well and long they have pitched into games this year. And heck 7inning double headers plays right into our strengths and avoids our weakness it seems.

This is factually inaccurate. Moose and Senzel never tested positive, they had possible symptoms, weren't sure, self reported, self isolated and then had to test negative before returning.

This is a positive test, not self reporting possible symptoms. And it was the only positive test in the last round of testing. Could be a false positive, but it was molecular and they retest that sample if it comes up positive, so that possibility isn't real high.

Only 1 player tested positive, all others are negative so far.

    Gotta to love Bauer

When it rains lemons, make lemonade I guess would be the proper saying.

And for him it is really raining lemons. Got messed up by the idiots that didn't call the rain out until 8 minutes before game time after getting both starters completely warm. Went ahead and pitched the next day in the dbl header when he should have probably skipped. Ends up needing extra time after his next start (code for something is not right as a result of that rain out dbl header fiasco), and that pushes him to todays start where he now gets caught up in this positive test crap.
