Other teams beat themselves against Sonny. His control is pretty erratic. Cards will take the walk.

He's got a lot of evening out to do. Eventually, they just have to accept he isn't a big leaguer.

Hello all. I commented on the Thom thread that I would stop by tonight. I had made the decision before the season started to take a step back from the Reds this year, though I still periodically read the threads on RedsZone. I have also noticed that a few people were concerned about my absence -- rest assured, I am still alive and currently healthy. (Hopefully that continues when school resumes this fall!)

Anyway, my absence is not due to any friction or dissatisfaction with the Reds or this site. When the apocalypse started back in March, I was focused on the day-to-day struggle of getting by, and also keeping tabs on my parents. Baseball took a back seat in my life. By the end of April, I realized that I didn't even miss baseball, as I was spending my time working on household projects I had neglected.

When baseball finally made plans to resume, I just didn't have an interest. The short season seems too much like an exhibition season or Spring Training season to me, and I just couldn't get emotionally invested in it, especially when where was the possibility that the season could be suspended or cancelled at any time.

I also had reservations about the rule changes. I was OK with the expanded rosters, but I was strongly opposed to the DH. (if I wanted to follow AL baseball, I would have become a Red Sox, Indians, or Tigers fan years ago.) I was even more strongly opposed to the 10th inning rule -- I would prefer ties over that rec league BS. I understood -- but still disliked -- the 7-inning doubleheaders, though my biggest fear was that all of these "temporary" 2020 rule changes will become permanent. So I decided that -- rather than get emotionally worked up over all of it -- I would just take a couple of steps back and not get involved with the 2020 season.

I still try to read RedsZone regularly, though. It has become a habit over the years, and I enjoy the interaction. Anyway, I'm still alive and kicking, and though I'm not around as often, I will still pop in now and then!

Fair enough, didn’t get a great look at it. Just knew the hitter was arguing and, well, it is CB Bucknor

I had a 50% chance of being right, mich like CB on most of his calls haha

    No.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

CB seems to be on a little hot streak with calling balls and strikes!
