Not sure I’d opt for Jankowski to start tonight, but the Reds’ defense has been a big minus this season. All the unearned runs allowed, sixth highest NL ERA as compared to league leading FIP. It’s not just a nuisance, it’s been a problem.

You can swap Robel and Van Meter without repercussions. I'd have liked to seen it.

The Reds bullpen is on a streak of 15.1 scoreless innings.

Ervin, Farmer, Davidson might feel like better options to DH over JVM. But that Wainwright curveball could have all 3 of them swinging and missing all night. I think if Senzel was available we'd see Winker at DH. JVM may be the best option in the end.

I wonder if JVM would be an upgrade to Votto in the field?

yes, we left ourselves very little wiggle room after basically crapping the bed against bad teams like the tigers and royals (need to do better than 5-5 against those scrub teams). but regardless, this is exciting. let's get a W tonight!

Ten game road trip, game 3 tonight, Reds need to split the ten or better. Split would be acceptable, play .500 on the road.
