Then you get Shogo, Van Meter and Barnhart all in the same lineup.

Bell, wake up, try something different.
    It’s a good point

So you guys are saying .063 is not ideal for a DH in the 7 hole? Who knew?

One of JVM’s two hits was a HR, so it’s a hard .063 BA.

Thing about JVM is that RedsZone discussed him this off-season. There was a view that Reds needed more LH bench hitting. It was noted that JVM didn’t hit much after his hot July 2019.

The Reds spent on a beautiful house last off-season but the foundation still seems weak. Some of the less glamorous items aren’t so good. Lead bench players, bullpen, team defense, singles hitting, that kind of stuff.

Literally any other player. Bell is idiotic. No feeling on the game....just the “smartest man in the room”

It’s getting harder and harder to ignore Bell’s inability to just put a damn lineup together.

Welsh pre-game - "this pitcher known to walk a lot of batters" so Reds set out to prove him wrong

So pregame they talked about Hudson has control issues and a guy you want to work the count

But the Reds brass clearly game planned swinging early and attacking.

    = 2 bad AB and a 4 pitch inning

    Hudson missed no bats.

    Two line drives.

Pitchers who are pitch efficient often have been just lucky.

You could argue Votto should have taken his pitch because he made poor contact. However, Castellanos and Winker hit it hard, just right at guys.

If line drives are coming off the bat 100 and 103 mph, I'll take my chances.

Hudson also never missed the strike zone

Winker drove the ball where it was pitched pretty well. Votto’s 3 hopper on first pitch of the game.
