A slow 36 year old batting. 207...what's not to love?

Batting first eliminates 1 chance of GIDP a game.

The sad thing is that's the only possible answer that makes any sense. What a child to be a fan lol

He has 2nd best OBP on the team. Seems obvious to me.

    In theory.

But in practice, not so much.

    ugg, down 3-0

Since Mr Anderson is pitching for the Brewers, the Reds should have used Agent Smith as the DH.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

I think I’m third on the team in OBP. Not exactly an honor.

Not really the point. He gets on base more than most of the team. You aren’t going to bat Winker leadoff. People keep saying to move him 6th. I don’t really see the point of that at all. At the end of the day, he still gets on base, why wouldn’t you lead him off?

His BA and OBP are demonstrably worse when batting leadoff.

    Using all the same guys:

    Farmer
    Winker
    Castellanos
    Davidson
    Suarez
    Moose
    Ervin
    Votto
    Casali

If Phillip Ervin has to play then he needs to bat 9th

I was thinking, since he's the one guy with speed, it would make more sense for him to run in front of the bottom of the order than to get thrown out in front of the guys at the top. Stealing should be limited to the bottom half of the batting order. Why take a chance at getting caught in front of the best hitters?
