had a friend...Cardinals fan and baseball nut....told me Votto's strength of being so selective and having such a good eye would be his downfall later in his career....claimed he would not be able to accept that he just could not see the ball as well and reaction time would slow. He told me that around 2012ish.....he may have been correct.
