    Not if the throw pulls the catcher into the 3B baseline, which happens on probably well more than 50% of the time, because the throwers bias it that way, thinking that missing to the 1st base side of the plate means there is no chance to get the tag.

    Just insuring his bullpen for the rest of the week if he does fall significantly behind. Doesn't really need anyone for close games with no game yesterday. Gets another bonus player for Saturday DH.

    I think there are parameters about how far they can step away from plate.....not sure how strongly enforced.
