    A lot of these newer stadiums which have small outfield just do not seem to allow a traditional style of baseball or run creation. There are very small areas of green that a hitter can hit the ball without a fielder getting there....and then the shifts have even diminished the field even more. I think hitters have just realized they a better off trying to hit it in the one place a fielder is unable to catch it. Not my preference either....but not sure how it goes back in the other direction.

    I was no fan of Thom....but since he left the booth, there has been a lot more what some would call "excuse making" in the booth with Day and Welsh.

    Seems like the Reds need to look at how they prepare for the season and how they run spring training. Just about every year half the team doesn’t show up until we’re 7-8 out of first place.

    this team routinely starts games flat the last two seasons....I know who I would hold accountable.

    The
    @Cubs
    have 3 players with multi-HR games for the first time since 4/16/1955 (Happ, Heyward, Schwarber).

    The Cubs lost the game 4/16/1955....11-12 against the Saint Louis Cardinals in 14 innings

    They're not wrong.

    Again, to me, this offense is problem #1. Every team we play has the same approach. Throw the Reds lots of breaking balls and let them get themselves out. The bullpen is a wreck but none of us are surprised by that. But the offense has too many proven guys to still be struggling to score more than 3 runs.

    @jluckhaupt

    Reds offense has now scored 15 total runs in 7 Luis Castillo starts.

    Reds bullpen has now allowed 25 runs in 20.2 IP in Luis Castillo starts.

    Does Castillo cook fish in the clubhouse microwave or something?

    Agreed, but it's not looking like things are turning around for the better.
