    Re: RIP John Thompson

John Thompson was a legend among legends in the greatest college basketball conference during the 80's/90's. Like so many of the iconic coaches in that conference during that era, the line "loved by many, hated by many more, and respected by all" is fitting.

    RIP Big John

Unless I'm missing something, I believe you're thinking of Jim Calhoun.

Thank you. Too many teams with the same mascot.

Wherever Calhoun is, "To your health".

Georgetown is a different dog: a Hoya.

In any event, I really got to like Thompson through his broadcasting work. He was really, really good as a color analyst on Westwood One college basketball radio coverage.
