I think there is a discussion about the players we should have targeted. There is some question about if a guy would come to Cincy, but I still think 99% of the time if our offer is stronger, we get the guy. Most thought we would target Gregorius and Grandal....and I personally wanted Ozuna. To compare...

    Nick Catellanos - .254 BA | 10 HR | 24 RBI | .912 OPS
    Marcell Ozuna - .286 BA | 8 HR | 23 RBI | .919 OPS

    Tucker Barnhart - .180 BA | 1 HR | 6 RBI | .516 OPS
    Yasmani Grandal - .228 BA | 4 HR | 14 RBI | .734 OPS

    Freddy Galvis - .213 BA | 6 HR | 11 RBI | .731 OPS
    Didi Gregorius - .283 BA | 5 HR | 19 RBI | .850 OPS

while the differences are not huge....when you dig into the numbers, I bet there is a 3+ game difference in there.

Thanks, I had blocked that from my memory.

I think most players do that. The Reds are just happy losers.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

The Reds fascination with Tucker is baffling to me. I cant defend anything they have on that front.

I prefer not signing Didi only now because they have rushed Garcia to the bigs. IF he is our future, no reason to have Didi block him. And Ozuna and Nick are about the same

To be fair, we are kind of new to this whole "free agency" thing.

That was a shot over the bow to Bell, IMO. They're seeing the same thing we are, just much more up close and personal.

They know they screwed the pooch on the Bell hire.

I predict that they will get a hit in this inning.

    No runs, but a hit.

Reds did try to hire Girardi.. and when he bailed, Reds settled for the smooth talker and local boy. I wonder who would want this job to be honest. It doesnt seem attractive to the top dogs

    Yep.

I have now lifted the curse that my joke placed on this game at the very beginning.
