    @Reds

    To make room on the 28-man roster for OF Brian Goodwin and RHP Archie Bradley, the #Reds today optioned to the alternate site OF Mark Payton and RHP José De León.

    Matt Dave batting 3rd has very powerful “Miguel Cairo taking Joey Votto’s spot in the lineup today” energy from back in the Dusty days

    Were Reds able to add Goodwin and Bradley to the forty because of Senzel?

    I thought they went over by one player. Guessing Senzel doesn’t count while on the special IL.

    So when he returns they need to drop a guy from 40?

    They didn't add anyone when they DFA'd Ervin IIRC. That left them one under.

    Sonny Gray gives up a single to the leadoff hitter in the top of the first inning.

    Game's over. There is no way this team can overcome a deficit like this. I'm out.

    I don't think I've seen Sonny hit this hard.

    Sonny Gray strikes out a lot of hitters, but the Cardinals are making contact with few swings and misses. The Reds should be in learning mode.

    I’m glad they wasted those good starts earlier in the year, it’s definitely not completely disheartening to now see the starters take lumps and feel like the game is immediately lost.

    so he is just going to keep throwing it in the dirt and expecting a different result?
