He had power, control, intelligence, longevity and an unquestionable competitive drive. He was honestly the perfect pitcher.

    RIP.

I remember the day the Reds traded for him - he should've won the Cy Young in 1981 - he wasn't as flashy as Fernando, but he was way more consistent. What a great pitcher.

This didn't come as a surprise given his troubles with Alzheimer's disease but, man, this one hits hard. Always a favorite of mine even before he was a Red.

We probably never really know MLB players, but he seemed to be a first class person. He definitely was a terrific pitcher. R.I.P. Tom Terrific.

Over a full career (excluding Koufax who retired early), I never saw a better pitcher than Tom Seaver.

    Terrible news.

Watching the video, especially the ninth inning, I noticed how quickly Seaver pitched. It seemed as if after each pitch it took him ten seconds or less after he received the ball back from the catcher before he released another pitch.
Great game call by Marty in the ninth as well.

RIP Tom Seaver. I'm saddened by this, but I know first hand the horror of his disease. Glad he's at peace.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
