That year was just different. It hurts me to this day the way the season ended.

To paraphrase the old adage, show me someone’s favorite baseball team and I’ll show you when they were 10 (or 11). Fortunately for me I was 9 when we won the 90 World Series. It’s pretty much been all downhill from there (Reds-wise).

Of course my oldest is 9 right now. Hoping the Reds give her some of that magic this year.

Agreed. I’d frankly rather go against the Dodgers. Not because of strategy or anything, I’d just rather lose to them than the dumb Cubs.

Seems to me Reds are headed to the 7th spot and a date with the Braves.

Still some key games to be played, though.

Send me the Cubs. Reds would win that.

And your favorite player influenced the position you would play. I turned to Catcher when I was 10. Any guesses?

I loved Bench, but you couldn't have paid me to play catcher.

It was good to have control. Plus, more involvement than 3rd, which I loved, also. Of course, had to do the throw to first from the squat position at least once before the Coach said not to. We imitate our heroes.

I am not saying that Homer Bailey would have definitely carved up the Reds offense if he were to start this weekend...but I am definitely glad that I won't have to watch Homer Bailey carve up the Reds offense this weekend.

With the division championship on the line for the Twins, I suspect it's all hands on deck. So it's possible the Reds se Bailey at least once in relief.

An inning or two is fine. It would just be traumatizing yet hilariously on-script if he gave the Twins like 7 innings of 1 run ball, knocking the Reds out of the playoffs.

Maybe a starter will get chased early, and he'll save the game with a gutsy and dominate long relief preformance, thus closing the Bailey chapter in Reds history in dramatic fashion.
