What the heck does a no hitter against a HOFer have anything to do with how good your offense is? No hitters and perfect games are pretty random and sometimes fluky. Like CaiGuy said, second in runs and best OPS in the league. If you call that bad, you're a hard guy to impress.

I would supplant Shogo at leadoff no matter who's pitching. He battles, sees a bunch of pitches and gets on base better than just about anyone on the team. And plays better defense than all other outfielders.

Yes, I remember but what I also remember is that they feasted on bad teams like the Cubs and would sometimes score 10-12 runs and overly inflate their stats.

I’m ok with Casali and Farmer at C and SS against the lefties. Indeed Reds may want to lead off with Farmer v lefties, he’s done well against them.

But Winker over T Steve at DH for sure.

And possibly Shogo over AA, close call v lefties, maybe depends on the specific pitcher. Shogo would be a fourth LHH, maybe not optimal, depends.
I'd put Shogo in LF, Aquino in RF, and DH Castellanos...

Over 162 game season, if you lead in any category it isn't because of outlier events.

In addition to Reds game Bauer against Houser:

Cards-Royals tonight Martinez v Duffy, should be competitive game for Royals.

Giants don’t seem to have named a pitcher against Rockies who are using a high ERA guy, Castellani.

Phils v Nats, Eflin v Fedde, similar ERAs.

    Miami facing Atlanta’s Fried.

Tomorrow with Reds off, Phils also off, Milwaukee at Cards, Miami at Atlanta.

Maybe it's just Bob Castellini's alter ego, Rob Castellani.

it's not an outlier of events especially when the Reds schedule consisted with at least 20 games vs the Cubs and Pirates

At least we miss Maeda, who has been their best starter and is lined up to pitch their first playoff game. Still 3 tough matchups.

Bums me out seeing him do so well in Minnesota because he was a guy I wanted the Reds to find a way to acquire for the longest time. He's probably not THIS good over a real full season but the guy can pitch.

The Reds should have offered him a bigger draft bonus 21 years ago.

For the record, assuming we win tonight, we hold the tie breaker over the Phillies.

So we officially hold tie breaker with Phils and Crew, correct? What is tie-break situation with Giants.
