As I said in several posts, people have been unrealistic about this road trip.

Most teams struggle to win on the road and seldom dominate.

If Reds go over .500 on this trip, they will be in position to do business at home.

He was doing his job and that’s more than you can say for most of the team. He also had some pop in his bat. Regardless of what the numbers are he’s a better hitter at this point than Garcia.

How is that considered "doing his job"?

At least with Garcia you know he's got more range and appears to be a much better defensive SS overall than Galvis right now. If Galvis' bat isn't going to make up for his average defense, it's not worth it for him to be in the game over Garcia.

Galvis graded as one of the 5-10 best SS defensively the last few years.

This year the numbers aren't as favorable to him.

He's 31 and isn't as good defensively as he was even 2 years ago.

Last I checked Galvis had the 4th highest OPS on the team. Garcia barely has a 700 OPS in the minors. Galvis isn’t great but replacing him with a kid who head never played above A ball was not a good idea. Now if they had thrown in the towel and traded some guys I wouldn’t have an issue with it.

I mean, if you lack reading comprehension it is.

The point is about 20 appearances meaning nothing, and if Winker in this season can slump this long, anyone can.

You use the depth and track record of the player. That’s the point.

So was Galvis available to PH in bottom of the last for 3 guys hitting worse than him?
