Barnhart is basically the same as a pitcher coming to bat. I truly do not see any reason that he should get the majority of starts.
some people on this site just don't want to accept the truth. i love votto. i appreciate the fact he is one of the best players in reds' history.
but he's washed up. that's also a fact.
I would have pinch hit Casali or Farmer right there for Barnhart. This is a 7 inning game not 9 innings. He is so quick to pinch hit for Aquino every time!

Almost everyone here agrees that his defensive skills have diminished quite a bit and that he should probably be the DH.

Casalli does a good job. Barnhart is not as good to me with the bat and perfect opportunity to hit for him, Bell doesnt!
bauer 6 innings, 1 earned run in a 7-inning game. against the worst team in MLB.
should be a lock of a win. but the reds are trailing 4-3. this team finds ways to lose to bad teams. just when you think they are getting on a roll, they remind you of who they are.
The error was given to Votto for a reason. I rest my case.

The reality is he deserves to be in the lineup as DH and sometimes 1b based on offensive merit.
Also, he has an unmoveable contract, and we are all stuck watching the diminishing returns on him.
What you constantly post is not inciteful. It’s obvious, basic, observation. It’s not news to anyone, and doesn’t need to be reported every single time he does something negative.
It’s over the top, annoying, and not appreciated by the majority.
