The #Reds today recalled from the alternate site C Tyler Stephenson and RHP José De León, placed on the 3-day paternity list RHP Nate Jones and designated for assignment IF Matt Davidson.

Reds hopefully are learning a lesson about roster building.

Davidson had his moments but, based on his career track record, should have been at Prasco getting occasional emergency call ups.

Same thing with some bullpen choices, some infield backup choices. Now slowly they are unraveling a number of these decisions, late in the season.

The inner workings are not so obscure. The team’s offense is pitiful. They are hitting .211. They average under 4 runs scored per game.

it’s a last minute, desperate attempt to get some live bats on the roster.
