Don’t get me wrong, I like announcers at the park, but at what point is it worth it?
I’m guessing a guy like Welsh gains a bunch of info hanging out with the players in the clubhouse or during batting practice. A good chunk of his stories during the game likely come from such interactions.

Shogo has been getting on base a lot lately. Playing much better.

Shogo seems wasted batting 6-7... I’d bat him 9th where his on base skills could be in front of the top of the order.

Somehow I doubt we get that same overrule.

I’d pay for broadcasters at the park although the product as is is pretty good. I’ve been amazed at the technology overall during this pandemic. Most of the local sports channel radio station’s personnel are still working from home and you rarely can tell the difference.

I hope these tidbits aren't taken for negativity - I'm finding fun in the stupid stats in a quickly-lost season.

Moustakas's ground-out dropped the team BA to .2098 - it's still a rounded .210, but they need a hit in the next two at bats, starting with Galvis, to prevent an un-rounded .209.

That was a pretty pitch after nibbling on the outside corner that whole at bat.

If I was Bell, I'd try Goodwin in the leadoff spot against righties. Gets on more often than most guys in front of him and brings desperately needed speed.

Bauer has impeccable command tonight. Pounding the target with fastballs and breaking balls both.

True, but I've also worn a jacket to night games in August.
