Because if you have competent decision makers at the top, you’ll know it will be corrected. Not having folks leading the franchise that can make well rounded, shrewd, baseball first decisions is the worst. In short, the reds are managed, owned, run, coached and directed by a massive group of fing losers.

The reds have had 6 years to rebuild and have failed miserably.

Developed players miserably.


Can you imagine the late 90s/2000s or the current 6 years happening to a real franchise? No. Because honestly, it’s hard to be this incompetent

Sure the Reds have made mistakes. But so have the Yankees, Dodgers and Red Sox. Difference is that they can recover. This isn't the NFL with a salary cap. Small market teams like the Reds are hopelessly disadvantaged in the long-term. A bad contract like Homer Bailey can cripple the organization. A big market, big money team can write it off and move on. Small markets like Cincy, KC, Milwaukee, etc can win if everything goes right and they catch lightening in a bottle in a certain year. I hoped that was what we would see in 2020. But it didn't happen. Now the realities of MLB will see to it that Bauer and Castellanos are gone in the off-season. And we'll have to wait for the next opportunity to catch lightening in a bottle.

Also don’t let the fake narrative that the poor reds are just ‘unlucky’ guide you.

The reds are not unlucky.

They are a short cutting, cheap, short sided organization that has rewarded mediocrity, been afraid to make decisions and has been guided by nepotism And horrible decision making for too long. The whole franchise is rotting

The sobering thing to me is that, when I was in high school, the 1997 and 1998 Reds won 76 and 77 games, respectively, and those seasons seemed incredibly hopeless and hapless. Those two win totals are both slightly better than 2019’s 75 wins, the high water mark so far for the current regime.
