Well the 2020 Magic Number Thread is proving to be lacking in mojo, so we will go the opposite route in hopes of producing a playoff run.
Primary tiebreaker is the higher pick goes to team with worse record the prior year. I think they are sorted correctly now. Reds had the 12th worst record last year and Seattle holds the tiebreaker over them. Reds hold tiebreaker over Boston, Arizona, Washington, Mets, Houston, NYY, St L, SF, and Phils of the teams in the 1-20 range now.
Currently in both leagues all teams making the playoff are .500 or better.Code:Tm Lg G W L W-L% Games ahead 1 BOS AL 44 15 29 .341 - 2 ARI NL 44 15 29 .341 - 3 PIT NL 41 14 27 .342 1/2 4 KCR AL 44 16 28 .364 1 5 TEX AL 42 15 27 .357 1 6 LAA AL 44 17 27 .386 2 7 WSN NL 41 16 25 .390 2.5 8 SEA AL 43 19 24 .442 4.5 9 CIN NL 43 19 24 .442 4.5 10 NYM NL 44 20 24 .455 5 11 DET AL 41 19 22 .463 5.5 12 COL NL 43 20 23 .465 5.5 13 MIL NL 41 19 22 .463 5.5 14 BAL AL 42 20 22 .476 6 15 MIA NL 38 19 19 .500 7 16 HOU AL 44 22 22 .500 7 17 STL NL 35 18 17 .514 7.5 18 NYY AL 43 22 21 .512 7.5 19 SFG NL 44 23 21 .523 8 20 PHI NL 39 21 18 .538 8.5 21 TOR AL 43 24 19 .558 9.5 22 CHC NL 44 25 19 .568 10 23 ATL NL 43 25 18 .581 10.5 24 MIN AL 45 27 18 .600 11.5 25 CLE AL 43 26 17 .605 11.5 26 SDP NL 45 28 17 .622 12.5 27 CHW AL 43 27 16 .628 12.5 28 OAK AL 41 26 15 .634 12.5 29 TBR AL 43 28 15 .651 13.5 30 LAD NL 44 32 12 .727 17
Reds unmagic number to clinch top draft spot is 23 with 17 games remaining, (I think) (combo of Reds losses and other team's wins). Same as their magic number to clinch the division, oddly enough.
