    Run for him.
That should be a no-brainer with a defensive replacement for 1st, too.

Guilty. $17 Million seemed a lot for that 10 ERA or whatever it was last year. I'd give him twice that to come back next year.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Yeah, we sold relatively high on Trammell.

You aren't going to get a pitcher of Bauer's caliber for nothing. Giving up a guy who may have peaked and another guy who was never in our longterm plans is about as close as you're gonna get.

Questionable, but too close to not swing.

This is why Buckner wasn't replaced in Boston for that one inning.

Seems our guys (other than Votto) are eager to get in the field and watch Bauer pitch again.

Just how much will it cost to sign Bauer for 2021? He seems to like playing in Cincy and he has also said he only wants one year at a time - so there is no long term injury risk. $25-30 million? What are the comps based on a short season after his shaky 2019?

Sorry, Bauer. You'll have to do this on your own.

Aristides must not have seen the 10 or so gloating posts from Bruce B. over his HR yesterday
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

They're saving those runs for game 2.

Out of respect, you don't take the guy out who provided the only offense in the game, I guess. Understandable, and you take your chances. Not everything can be done without considering players' emotions and their respect they have earned.

Looking at a comparable like DeGrom's contract, and taking his relative youth into account plus the whole one year status (will be interesting to see if he sticks with this), $25 to 30 sounds about right. Probably closer to 30.

We're looking at least at a 10 mil upgrade to payroll.

Since Bauer only signs one-year contracts, does this seem like a $30M contract that is going to the Yankees or Dodgers?
