When everyone else counted the Reds out, I never gave up hope. I always knew they’d get here, a game out of a playoff spot and ready to lose 5 of their next 6 games.

Yeah, I'm dumb. That six inning was crazy long, I forgot a lot more than that during it.

Romano and Archie with the 4 most critical outs of the game.

Don't count on a replacement pitcher for De Leon tomorrow. Remember 29 were allowed on the roster tonight, and it needs to be 28 for tomorrow, so the only move might be to put De Leon on the IL.

How about this play-off scenario: 6,7,8 teams in NL finish one game above .500, and the 9th team at .500. However the 9th team qualifies because they are 2nd in their division, so the other 3 have to have a playoff to decide which two qualify! And what if one of the three teams that finished one game over has played 2 less games than the other two?

Was this All star game appearances? Spahn was in 17.
" He was a 17-time All-Star player who won 20 games or more in 13 seasons, including a 23–7 record when he was age 42"

Wait! Seasons- Spahn had a couple of years when he was in two all star games. (What a dopey concept). So 14 seasons is probably correct.

according to MLB.com, there will be tie breakers set up.

“ What if there’s a tie (for a division championship or other postseason spot) at the conclusion of the regular season?

All ties will be resolved mathematically. No additional games will be played to break any ties. With an expanded postseason field, there is less incentive to play additional games, and this method allows for an expedited schedule that doesn’t push the World Series into November.

The first tiebreaker is head-to-head record (if applicable). If that’s also a tie, the next tiebreaker is intradivision record. If that’s still a tie, the next is record in the final 20 division games (plus one until the tie is broken).“

From 1959 to 1962, there were two All-Star Games per season. The second game was played to raise money for the players' pension fund.
