He’s been with the team for six seasons, is paid $3.7 million, and has one more season before free agency. So I hope he completes his movement toward being a pitcher for this club rather quickly.

That Brian Goodwin out was at 103.6 and is a hit 77% of the time.

Pretty much everyone on the #Reds bench stood next to the dugout stairs to congratulate Michael Lorenzen. Very impressive spot start, giving up 1 run in 5 innings, and a big boost for the rest of the bullpen.

Some guys get it later. Lorenzen was 1-4 last year with sub 3 ERA but he lost some games he should not have. He would walk guys or give up double or HR and come apart, and it looked early this season he was getting worse. I hope he really gels as club fights for playoffs.

Sims is another young arm the Reds make strike gold with for end of this year and next.

The rest of the game should be just anecdotes about Brad Lesley

I'd hate to be one of the Reds players shaking his hand and getting hit in the face after a save.

Lorenzen has pitched 265 games for the Reds. Last season he pitched 73 games with a 2.92 ERA and was the best reliever on the ball club.

The narrative that he’s suddenly coming into his own based on tonight’s outing just isn’t the case.
