Lorenzen against that lineup scares the hell out of me.

Dylan Cease ERA looks OK, but his FIP is 5.81 and he gives up 1.6 HR/9 (which is better than last year's number of 1.8). The HR Reds may have a chance to do some damage against him in GABP. This is a winnable game IMO. I don't know what the betting line is, but I'd probably take the over today.

I think Lorenzen is key. Avoid walks and blasts with men on and keep it close through 5-6. Give the club opportunity to win.

The starting pitcher is always the key, so I'd agree.

    Really need this one.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Sonny Gray threw a side session yesterday, David Bell said. They'll see how he recovers today, but he's expected to start in series vs. Brewers (maybe Tuesday). #Reds

I don't know Reds % of hits with RISP for this year, or RISP with two outs, but last night proved the difference really. Couple hits to keep it close or tie and Stephenson is not used to which he gave up the game. That being said it would be HUGE to see some clutch hits today with RISP.

I’d guess if Reds finish 5-2 (or better) they will get into the playoffs.

If they finish 4-3 they’ll be .500 and it could depend on tiebreakers for WC.

If they finish 3-4 or worse I’d guess they won’t make it.

They are hitting .213. They have the fewest hits in Major League Baseball. They are near bottom in runs.

It’s not just about last night, it’s an overall failure that needs to be overcome in these last seven games.

4-3 I think they make it. That is 500 and I like the chances. Today would be huge toward that with Minnesota for 3 on road to end it. Brewers with 5 at Cards may work out to help Reds too. I like seeing Brewers play Cards more so than Pirates. SPEAKING of Pirates would love to see them win today.

I don’t like the Lorenzen vs the White Sox matchup ....but baseball could play a part

I think we need get back to better plate approaches that looked to leave us yesterday.

I wish Votto’s days at first base were over. I am glad he’s battled with his .812 OPS

The Reds BA RISP is better than their BA.

I heard that on the game last night as well.

.224, worst in the NL, says today’s Fangraphs.
