I feel the same way about Castellanos. Way too many strikeouts to be in the 2 spot. Problem is the Reds don't have many better options for those spots.

Anyone have any explanation for why Lorenzen is pitching so much better now as a starter than he was a reliever?

Perhaps the preparation you have to do as a starter really benefits somebody like Lorenzen.

He seems to be a pretty into the idea of structure.

Great job for Lorenzen...7 Ks....he may be rounding into a better starter than out of the pen.

This Lorenzen getting starts thing is truly wild, it has had absolutely NO business working out as well as it has so far.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Lorenzen looking good....the question is: Will the Reds get a hit?

One thing Lorenzen is not doing is walking a lot of hitters.

Ya I don’t understand it but he has been legit awesome today. I think way more impressive than last game. Didn’t see it coming.

Gotta admit Lorenzen has done far better in these two starts than I imagined he would. I could see management now thinking about him in the rotation next year to replace one of the guys they'll lose.

Good point. Often that has been part of his undoing out of the bullpen.

The advantage of being a starter is you know ahead of time which batters you'll be facing and can mentally prepare.
