Hope Castillo stays on the roll he's on and they take the first of these three huge games.

It would appear Galvis and Garcia are platooning now. Guessing Garcia didn't hit enough to be trusted in games with playoffs on the line.

Does it seem odd that the right handed Casali is starting over Barnhart, with a rh pitcher?

Castillo has been rolling with Casali lately, I think it's been the last 5 starts or so.

Edit: it's actually been the last 3 starts. But if you look at Castillo's game log, his worst 3 starts were ones that Tucker started. Could be randomness, but clearly it's something either Bell or Luis is seeing.

Castillo and Casali have been particularly in sync with each other. In five starts together, Castillo has a 1.32 ERA, compared to a 5.33 ERA when Tucker Barnhart is behind the plate for him.

Hope Freddy continues to get on base. That really changes the lineup.

Votto has a .933 OPS over the past 4 weeks

1.220 at home on the season

.950 career against the Brew Crew.

I want to see him wreck some Brewers pitching.

Would be big to win this one.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I don't care about it being a short season, I don't care about expanded playoffs, it's meaningful September baseball for the Reds and it's been too long since we enjoyed that.

    I love this lineup.

I am sad Garcia fell flat on his face immediately, Galvis just needs to keep getting on base.
What would you say.....ya do here?

Me too. Garcia's call up was premature IMO. He is super smooth on the infield though. Would like to see him be a late inning replacement on D tho.

Punisher going to have to punish as a pinch hitter...

Garcia brought an energy to this team that was palpable. His defense is light years better than Galvis. He has struggled at the plate but I would hardly call it like you have. But sure, have at it.

Yes, Freddy has had a nice couple of games at the plate. But he is still one of the worst hitters in the league this year and his defense no longer picks that up.

That said, I am fine with Bell playing matchups at SS, CF and C from here on out.
