I swear Curt Casali takes more hits to the mask than any catcher I've ever seen.

Nick Castellanos has tied Jerry Hairston Jr. for 26th place among players of Hispanic heritage on the Reds' all-time home run list.

Hairston's grandfather, Sam Hairston, was one of the first African-American players in Chicago White Sox history, and his father, Jerry Hairston Sr., was an OF for the Chisox during two stints in the 70's and 80's. Between those two stints, Jerry Sr. played for three years in the Mexican League, where he met his wife (and Jerry Jr.'s mother).

As long as he's healthy and there's no recurring back issues, a fresh Sonny with a week and a half of rest may be a good thing down the stretch.

Just a reminder that there are no off days between games in the playoffs except between series.
