    2 Strike Meatball

What were Antone and Casali thinking on that 0-2 count to Gyorko in the 7th? Every game, every pitch is to important to make that pitch. It wasn’t a mistake, he hit the mitt right where Casali was holding it. Was he in a hurry? Did he have a dinner date and didn’t have time to throw a couple of waste pitches to see if he might chase one? I’m ok with that pitch if he elevates it, but he didn’t. Casali held it waste high and he threw it waste high. Lucky he didn’t hit it in the upper deck.

My memory of the pitch is that it was two inches above the strike zone...

I've actually been a little frustrated in the other direction. I've been seeing many 0-2 counts going full lately as the pitcher seems to waste a couple of pitches nowhere close. I'd like them to stop the nibbling and go after the batter (unless a notorious bad ball swinger like a Javier Baez).

Your memory is quite correct, it was not a strike.

Another example of someone complaining simply because of the result.

Same. Give me a Greg Maddux or Mark Buehrle 2-hour, 90-pitch CG.
    Hope isn't a strategy

Ever notice how many "new" posters sign up (those with very few posts) just so they can complain about something and try to stir things up?

The pitch in question was NOT in the strike zone.
