    Say it ain’t so

On Sept. 27, 1920, the great "Shoeless" Joe Jackson unknowingly played his final game.

I enjoyed this article, thought I'd share it here.

Even hotter take, if the Philadelphia A's don't trade Jackson to Cleveland for Bris Lord, the 1911-14 A's go down in history as the greatest team ever to take the field.

Jackson was uncomfortable in Philadelphia, a little too "Big City" for his taste, jumped the team a couple of times. Mack moved him rather than mold him. Probably was busy enough as it was.

Wasn't he the dude who got Kevin Costner to play catch with his dead father after he coerced James Earl Jones to walk into a haunted cornfield?

I agree, and it's not even close.

(And that's no knock on his career in Chicago -- he was just that much better in Cleveland!)
