I guess MLB doesnt care if fans can watch the game live? 9am west coast start time! Not the best way to promote your sport. Sheesh.

I'll say the same thing I said in the t-shirt thread. My hope is we get a conversation on here every season complaining about the Reds playoff start times.
*And not because MLB kept the expanded playoffs, but because the Reds season warranted a playoff berth.
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"

The start time is a bit of a bummer as I'll be in the car the whole time on my way to North Carolina. Maybe I'll try to stop somewhere for lunch to catch the first few innings. Or drive really fast to catch the end.
Reminds my of the days when I’d try to listen to daytime World Series games on my little transistor radio in study hall back in ancient times.
I do think it’s absurd that they have 8 games on the same day. I mean, really, you can’t stagger the games in some way. But then I remember the 2012 Reds-Giants game 5 was a 1 pm game. But MLB has to make sure prime time games go to NY and LA. They have to make sure that smaller franchises are put in their place.

I think the main reason they are not staggering games or doing more off days is baseball has been very afraid of what would happen if the virus comes up again as they have to get the postseason in to get the majority of their TV money.
So this year they are trying to get series done as quick as possible without travel and therefore you end up with 8 games in a day. And the other complication is these networks have other events going on at the same time like the NBA Finals so that is why you end up with so many games as the same time and early in the day as they try to fit all this in.

TV broadcasts typically cater to the east cost and that's just the way it is. Doesn't help there are 8 games.
