    1. Team-wide "hitting" approach
    2. Base running blunders
    3. Tinker Bell returns to shoot himself in the foot again

Votto failing to score from second on Suarez’s single in the 13th hurt too. It was not hit directly at the LF, slow roller that took him 3-4 seconds to get to, and any competent base runner scores with ease.

I'm listening to C. Trent now on a podcast, and he acknowledges the other criticisms of the players and Bell are valid, in his opinion, but not this one because it was Votto running on Duvall's arm. He fails to mention that Votto went back to second base which made the decision a moot point. My question is do people think Votto scores running on Duvall if he simply holds to make sure the ball isn't caught rather than initially retreating back to second?

This righty-lefty thing is killing us. Senzel gets 2 hits then is replaced,Casali is replaced by Mr K Barnhart. Akiyama finally comes in and is gone. How about sticking with your lineup for awhile?

Take aways. They Need to bring Bauer back. Period. They need a real lead off hitter that isn’t a platoon. Stephenson should be on the Roster not Davidson. More players needed that aren’t 3 outcome guys. Situational ball matters more in the playoffs. You’re not going to get a 5th starter or scrub middle reliever to tee off on. Need more lefties in the pen.

Yesterday was awful. Leaves you with a terrible feeling. But just find a way to win today and it's up for grabs.

Sounds like Stephenson was only left off because of the 10 day rule, otherwise I'm betting he would be in Atlanta. We need a true SS that can get on base. I'm not sure of all of the options out there for next year, but that is priority number 1 for me

That may be the case. Then again...why just not send someone else out and explain to them that it’s only because they won’t be used in a short series. Having another catcher makes things so much easier to navigate yesterday.

i hope i'm wrong, but bauer ain't coming back here.

    1. another team will offer him more money

    2. why would he want to play for a small-market team that provides him with little-to-no support and therefore has little chance of winning in the postseason? he goes out there and kills himself and has nothing to show for it because the offense choked over and over again. and he should be used to it by now. the man is going to win the cy young award with a W-L record that is barely above .500 (5-4). on a good team, bauer would have a record of like 9-2 this season.

In retrospect if I were Freddy I'd probably been so bothered by Bell starting Farmer over me that I would have done the same thing. Granted it seems like most of our lineup couldn't figure out the Braves breaking balls.

I'll stay with the cliche that good pitching defeats good hitting when they're equal.

That seemed like a more appropriate situation for a pinch runner - with a slow runner and the go-ahead run on second - than pinch running for Winker on first the inning before.
