Suarez sucked for 2 months in a pandemic shortened season in which he was going miss a good amount of time with a shoulder injury. Looking to get rid of him is not a genius move, if you ask me.

That’s not why I’m looking to trade him. He has the most potential to bring back meaningful pieces and there are several guys that could easily slot in at 3b. Right now they have 3b at CF, 2B, and RF to an extent. It would gain a meaningful return, and likely strengthen the defense just by getting Moose to 3b and Senzel to 2b.

Votto to DH and Moose to 1b seems to be an obvious fix to me. I know Winker and Castellanos are awful defensively too, but Votto's new home for the rest of his contract needs to be DH.

This and trade Winker for a SS.

How about getting back Donnie Ecker from the Giants and make him the hitting coach?? He did and incredible work this year (looks as the giants numbers, besides he was giving the credit for change Aquino`s batter stance, resurging his prospect status.

Great first post, there is a common theme on this team and it lead to almost everyone on the team having a career worst year hitting. The Padres were also ranked near the bottom or dead last when he was with them. There is no reason Zinter should stick around. None!

He is quite the paradox...eagle eye in the batters box, yet can’t catch a ball in the field hit or thrown to him to save his life.

You could make an arguement that these 60 games are like ST & April and we're just entering May. Not sure i really buy that tho.

If only there was a position that allowed a player to hit but not need to field. Of course there may be no DH in the NL next year (although I'd be surprised if this wasn't permanent). Also this is the same franchise that let a statue of Ken Griffey Jr. play center field, so who knows.

I had a post typed out about not wanting to sell low on Suarez after having a sub-.300 BABIP for the first time in his MLB career (it was .214 in 2020) but decided I was making too obvious of a point and backed off...

I only care about two things:

Get a new Manager.

Trade Iglesias.

Everything else will work itself out if those two things are accomplished.

2. Votto has to retire. If he doesn't, the organization has no way out of this predicament. It's not his fault, and he earned that deal, but he can't play anymore. Can't hit. Can't field. Can't run. Take that money and the money that Bauer would have received an invest in a legit 1B, SS, and C who can make good contact.

While you are assuming that Votto has retired and spending his money on other people, let’s assume that the Yankees will trade us Cole for Davidson ( and cover his salary), and the Angels will trade us Trout for FCB ( and again cover his salary).

And while we are at it, let’s pick up Tatis Jr. on waivers to cover SS for us.

Angels won't take FCB for Trout without a first born child to be named later. Sorry FCB. It was too easy.

Bauer is not coming back, folks. Stop being delusional.

I remember why I stopped coming to this site. No one knows what Bauer will do one day into the season being over. All this negativity around a team who finished this good is asinine. They have some holes, but nothing that can't be fixed. It was a sixty game season. One thread in I remember why I actually enjoyed this season, not coming here had a big part too play.
