God's building quite a rotation for next season -- Seaver, Gibson, Ford.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

In top of all the other stuff that happened in 2020, we've lost 4 Hall of Famers. RIP.

Saw Ford pitch when I was a kid first becoming interested in baseball.

Memory is he was money in the bank, not only excellent but consistently so.

Unfortunately, we are losing some greats from baseball these days.

Sadly, I think it's five Hall of Famers now. We lost Al Kaline in April, and now Seaver, Brock, Gibson and Ford all since August 31.

Not to mention, we also lost two very, very good players who were short of the Hall in Jimmy Wynn and Tony Fernandez.

    RIP Whitey...

I actually saw him pitch but I have no memory of the game itself. My dad was in the advertising business and he would get invited to a Sports Illustrated sponsored picnic before a Cleveland Indians game. It was at old Municipal Stadium in the area between the outfield fences and the boundary of the lower bowl. We were eating hot dogs before the game and the Yankees were taking batting practice and bombing us with home runs. I remember some Yankee players were in the outfield and laughing at us. My dad was a little pissed.

I looked it up a few years back and it was 7/18/1960. I was 8 then and don’t remember the game at all. Ford was the starter and winner.

I always wonder how good he would have been without junking the ball up.

Forgot about Kaline. April seems like 100 years ago. It's been a horrible year.

    Re: RIP Whitey Ford

I saw Whitey Ford beat the Reds at Crosley Field with my dad in 1961. Got out of school to see the game. Batting practice was incredible to see - and then they killed us. Yogi was playing left field and Elston Howard was catching.
    I was 9 yrs old.
Embarrassed to say I took a Yankee batting helmet home - my one swag gift from my dad. I wore it to school the next day thinking I was super cool having missed a day of school and seeing the World Series. I now wonder if my dad was disappointed in my helmet choice. I suspect he understood and didn't mind. the Yanks were bigger and stronger! But I remember us all laughing at Yogi falling down during BP in left field due to the terrace. God, I have so many great memories of Crosley with my parents. Thank you Reds.

    Hank Aaron ought to worry.
