Very sad to hear this. I know it's been a crazy year, but I could have sworn I heard him on tv or radio earlier this year and he was doing a lot better. I guess it could have been last year.

Well, it seems like AP and Joe Kay have it now.

https://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireSt...-dies-73565559CINCINNATI -- Joe Morgan, the Hall of Fame second baseman who became the sparkplug of the Big Red Machine and the prototype for baseball’s artificial turf era, has died. He was 77.
He died at his home Sunday in Danville, California, a family spokesman said Monday. Morgan was suffering from a nerve condition, a form of polyneuropathy.
Morgan's death marked the latest among major league greats this year: Whitey Ford, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, Tom Seaver and Al Kaline.
Damn, this sucks. I was born in 1977, but I’ve always enjoyed the history of the franchise/sport and sometime in the early to mid 90s I was able to get a VHS copy of games 6/7 of the 1975 WS and I wore those tapes out. Morgan was my “favorite” player on the BRM. RIP.
RIP Joe.

Sad news. RIP Joe!

Pretty much the perfect baseball player. He's the reason why the BRM are in best ever arguments. He was so good in 1975 and 1976 it was almost surreal. I will never have a greater feeling of surety than I did in my youth in the 9th inning of the 1975 World Series when Joe Morgan stepped to the plate with two outs against Jim Burton.
I'm not a system player. I am a system.
