While I do think that Molina deserves to be, and will be, a HOF, I don’t think he will be a first ballot HOF.
His career WAR of 40+ simply isn to good enough for him to get in on his first try. Plus I don’t think he’s particularly well liked around the league, which might well mean some will make him wait.

It's more about how the award has become metric based, and he doesn't have the metrics. That said, if they make a metric for guiding a pitcher through a game competitively and keeping them focused, Yadi would win every time. It's the central flaw with metric philosophy: if a skill cannot be quantified, it does not exist.
