Literally everyone outside Bengals management saw this coming miles away.
I’m just disgusted over this. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.
I hate Mike Brown.

To be fair the Bengals drafted Jonah Williams last year and Billy Price the year before (and traded for Cordy Glenn that year). It’s not for lack of trying.
Jonah is looking the part but who would have guessed Price would have been as big of a bust as he has been?
What sucks is as much as of a priority as Sewell is there are so many other holes on this roster it’s not even funny. Before this happened today I was thinking if the Bengals won enough to get them out of a premium pick DeVonta Smith from Alabama would be someone I’d like to see paired with Higgins.

Yeah - Obeghui & Fisher a few years ago, plus Price, plus Williams’ injuries have set this team back on the line and they still need help on d-line, cornerback and a speedy big-play WR and probably more.
Very true, all of it.
Obeghui & Fisher, both 1st round busts.
Price... 1st round bust
Jonah... looks good but as Marvin Lewis used to say, you can't win from the tub.
Agreed, it isn't from lack of trying to address the offensive line. It's from lack of succeeding. Add this to the "I don't know which is worse" Mike Brown pile.
And yeah, you gotta miss Burfict and Jones, but even then you knew it couldn't last. Timing, as they say, is everything. All other things equal, if the Burfict/Jones tandem would have been just a few years earlier, it would have made all the difference in the world. It figures that when the Bengals finally get a couple of guys on defense that can lay the smack down, then the league all of the sudden goes all snowflake. Which, don't get me wrong, I'm glad they did. Still, it would have been nice to have those two during, say, the Hines Ward era.
As for Burrow, he got hurt today because the RG and LG both got burned, and one went high, another went low. My favorite part though is Tayor in the post-game refusing to put blame on not Addressing the oline. Who didn't see this coming?

Bates is getting there. Between he and WJIII and Vonn Bell (13 tackles today) they have a good Secondary. Add in Trey Waynes it would have been very good. Add in the All-Pro DT we got from the AFC South, and our D-Line would be night and day different in a positive direction. They come back next season. Our Defense should be good. Add the 1st Rd pick of an OT, and the O-Line should be decent enough if we can find a Center in Free Agency.

I agree we have the players on defense mainly because Mike Brown opened up the purse strings. Bates is someone I want to see locked up for a long time though. Best safety I can remember as a Bengal and hopefully his brightest days are ahead of him.
Problem is we don’t have a pass rusher. None of the guys you listed can put pressure on Roethlisberger, Mayfield, or Lamar Jackson twice a year. We could have bypassed Burrow and taken Chase Young but there really isn’t one in this draft coming up except for maybe Rousseau.
It’s just lack of development. There’s no “next man up” when players get hurt, no fighting for roster spots. I don’t blame Mike Brown as much as I blame Zac Taylor and ultimately Jim Turner for the o-line being what it is.
Blaming Mike Brown anymore is like blaming Rodney McMullen because Kroger is out of toilet paper. It’s easy to do but it doesn’t address the problem.
Any update on the injury?
From what I know, the thing to pray for is no PCL damage. That could have a very negative effect on the rest of his career. If it’s just ACL he should be back for Week 1.
Go BLUE!!!
Sewell and Jonah bookending the line for 7 years should be nice. Spain should be resigned and Hopkins is fine as a centre. Rotations can be sorted out.
I am a happy clapper.

Mike Brown has a desire to win the issue is that his way is old and antiquated but he is too stubborn to realize it gets you 3-13.
I also think Burrow getting hurt saves Taylor's job...reason you have a QB who will be rehabbing for 9-12 months the last thing you want him to do on top of that is to learn a new offense. So unless you are going to pull the trigger on Joe Brady we are stuck with Taylor for another season.
I also think it is unfair to put the blame for this O line on Taylor and Turner...Tobin is the guy who should be answering those questions not Taylor.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.
