When the pandemic is over and the economy rebuilds, MLB will move to add at least 2 new MLB clubs. A move that will add an additional 8 full-season minor league clubs along with it.

So, it's never over. Plus, all it really takes is a community willing to spend 50M$ on a stadium, and you'll see teams line up to move there.

Cool. So, they've pushed out some established teams and now have more leverage to extort towns for better, fancier stadiums.

Today was supposed to be deadline day for teams to accept the terms. Earlier in the day they said 75% had already accepted. I do think the Tortugas, and Lookouts are among the shakiest.

Baseball America (Behind paywall which I don't subscribe to) says clubs got their Professional Development Licenses earlier this week and now have until Feb 10th to sign them. Or lose the affiliation.

To what degree the information is accurate, I don’t know...Wikipedia has the entire 2021 minor league layout on their site. When you open the link, scroll down to the bottom to see the leagues/teams. Again, I don’t know if this is accurate or not but it does appear to be very much along the lines of what MLB wanted to accomplish. Interesting.
Under the heading, Table Key, open the leagues individually to view the teams.

Thanks. I still think it's educated guesses. Notice they don't have St Paul or Jacksonville in a League yet.

Baseball America says all 120 agreements are in place. Since there has been no news to the contrary, I assume Daytona and Chattanooga are on board. For 10 years !

Edit: Chattanooga announces they are in !

The new alignment for minor league baseball. For the #Reds:

    Louisville - AAA East
    Chattanooga - AA South
    Dayton - High-A Central
    Daytona - Low-A Southeast

Read something that the old league names are owned by Minor League Baseball not Major League Baseball so the league names are placeholders. Maybe for as long a year.

The Louisville Bats will be the Cincinnati Reds' Triple-A affiliate for at least 10 more seasons.

The team announced Saturday it had reached an agreement to be a part of the MLB franchises' farm system through 2030. The 2021 season will mark the 22nd for the Bats as the Reds' Triple-A club.

The Lexington Legends have joined the Atlantic League.

That's pretty cool. I assume they'll add one more to make it 8 teams.

Hopefully the WV Power slide into that 8th spot in the Atlantic League. Would hate to not have any kind of baseball close to Huntington, WV.

WV Power have scheduled a 10 am est time news conference for tomorrow. Rumored to be joining the Atlantic League.

Hopefully so. Power park is a nice stadium, I truely enjoy watching baseball in that stadium.
