It was a solid decision. Based on the First Amendment. If you can shred the right to assemble because of "health officials" what's to stop "security officials" from doing the same?

Vaccines are usually tested for two years to monitor side affects.

Operation Warp Speed threw out a huge feed bag of government money and dropped oversight and shielded these companies from liability.

I thought about being called "anti-vaxxer" before posting this, but decided the idea of worrying about what people thought about me is less important than getting people to think about what they might be doing to their children.

I'm not sure I've ever been more shocked by a post than that one.

    Dude, seriously?

That photo's intent is to shock, but who hasn't seen it already? To make it thread-relevant, the girl has lived a pretty remarkable (though obviously difficult) life. She, at least, has been remarkably resilient.

And we don't make a habit of putting young women through this.

    Yes.

    Definitely Yes.

This is what oligarchic governments do.

    They sow terror.

And they use lies to do it.

The daughter of the Kuwaiti embassador lying US into a ****ed up war.

    Get fearful.

And people who tell you otherwise are "conspiracy theorists"' or "Russians" or "bots" or "Chinese" or "QAnon"

Right. Because the people who lied you into war, like the New York Times or the Washington Post -- are totally believable.

Yes, the problem is weirdos on social media, not the coordinated MSM/

Our constitution doesn't allow for unilateral decisions that allow chosen "essential workers and businesses" to remain open while not allowing people of faith to gather and worship. It's in our first amendment.

SCOTUS doesn't legislate or say what they want people to do, they rule on the legality of cases. Pandemics don't nullify the constitution or our liberty.

Regarding the 1st amendment there's nothing even remotely controversial about the SCOTUS ruling. Maybe political, but definitely COVID related.

1st protects against discrimination from speech, assembly, association, press, religion, etc. Liberty was never meant to be free.

    This is the first amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The regulations do not in anyway prohibit the free exercise of religion, nor the right to assembly. Everyone is allowed to gather and practice their religion under these regulations. The only restriction is that they can’t do it in a large gathering of more than ten people.

I'm not a Christian and I think people should gather for Christian worship or Socialism or whatever.

That's basically what the SCOTUS said.

When did the left get stupid? I'm actually not sure.

The discussion about why one would disagree with it could go ten different ways, many of which aren't really COVID related. But hey - not my space to determine what is/isn't allowed. I'm sure someone will step in if boundaries are crossed.

That said, if it were a 9-0 decision, you're right - it wouldn't be controversial. It was 5-4. So there's absolutely some controversy when it's basically split down the middle.
