    The goal is to get federal funding, because state cannot afford to pay for it. The grant application strategy is to ask for 60-80% of the total project cost in federal funding, but it is likely they will get less than that. How much they will get is unknown before the grant awards are announced. The two grants I mentioned should announced their awards before the end of 2022. I think BS bridge is strong candidate, and it has a strong political advocacy approach also, so I think they will get a big award, but 60% federal funding is a best case scenario. The rest of the project funding will come from state money (both Ken.and Ohio).
    However, the project can get started with identifying design alternatives before they line up 100% funding.
    If you are interested in the project I recommend following the design process - there will be multiple public meetings to gather community (ie political) feedback on the bridge design.
