OK with only 31 players on 40 man roster, I have to believe we are grabbing at least one player.

The thought of cutting useful MLB players to take a run at Rule 5 detritus makes me queasy.
I'm not a system player. I am a system.

Me too, but I think most are interchangeable with other usable players who the reds will add off the same scrap heap for less money as every team will do. The only guy I really would have kept for absolute sure is Bradley. I'd have preferred to keep Casali simply because he isn't covered with the same Reds or Tigers losing stench as most of the rest of the position player group. Other than that, one shift of rank and file leaves, the next shift clocks in.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
Revering4Blue (12-08-2020)
Seems Estevez has attracted some interest as his name has appeared in rule 5 articles the past few days, including one by Doug.
After recent moves, it seems the Reds likely take a reliever. The bigger question with the current roster number is how many do they take?
With as many outfield questions as we have, I kind of think we grab an OF we like.

Leatherpants would not have been able to resist a couple toolsy OF with big power and OF arms: Will Benson of Cleveland and Seuly Matias of KC (ranked 14th in system). Both struggle to make contact but some team may take a swing. I still prefer Kai'a Tom myself (from Cleveland system), good all around CF but at 26, undersized and passed over last year. I doubt he is selected. A pitcher from Cleveland with good starting upside, but left unprotected is Luis Oviedo. Needs work on his control but can throw 98.
It's telling. Each year at this time, I worry whom Cleveland might lose in rule 5 and wonder whom Cincinnati could select. I think that about sums up where each organization has stood over the last couple decades.

I'd never heard of Kai'a Tom, so looked up his stats. Very nice. I'd be totally cool if they grabbed him.
