    That's all in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? What would you consider a high-octane fastball for a left-handed starting pitcher?

    I was under the impression Lodolo was above-average to plus at pretty much everything pitching related, or projected to be anyway. And left-handed.

    I would say high-octane for a LHP is working 94-96 and touching 98. I thought i had read that he worked more like 92-94 and could touch 96. With sink and downward plane that's excellent for a LHP, but not what I would call high-octane. The article said both Lodolo and Greene had high-octane FB's. Even considering difference in handedness, I don't think they compare.

    Unless Lodolo found a lot of extra velocity and no one told me (I assume they would have), you're right that they don't compare. But, the number of pitchers on this planet that compare to fastball velo Hunter Greene is basically Jacob deGrom.
