Hannah was the prospect the Reds received for Tanner Roark, who was acquired for Tanner Rainey.

So Robert Stephenson and Tanner Rainey for Hoffman and Williams

If our pitching guys targeted Hoffman, I like the odds of him being able to at least replace Disco.

LOL, I’m sure these pitchers are all disappointed. Coming out of Coors or GABP, you’d probably like to pitch in Petco or a similar pitchers’ park. Out of the frying pan, into the fire.

Addition by subtraction with Stephenson and a 10th outfielder for a young live arm and a once highly touted arm. I’ll take it.
What would you say.....ya do here?

Will Jeff Hoffman become as much as Reds trivia buff as Dustin?

A lame post 32 years in the making.

Looks like Hoffman is out of minor league options.

Hoffman fits the high-spin fastball type that the #Reds have coveted in recent years.

At least pitches actually break normally in GABP

#Reds like what they see in Hoffman. The results aren’t there, but believe in the stuff. comparison of Lucas Sims may be a good one.

Change of scenery deal for Stephenson and Hoffman, each out of options.

But Stephenson is already arbitration eligible. Hoffman has another pre-arb year to go.

So Reds save a few dollars, swap out the disappointing pitchers, and probably prefer the 18-year old pitcher for development over Hannah.

Jeff Hoffman fits #spincinnati with the high arm slot, high-spin, four-seamer/curveball combination, but mediocre results thus far. This is what Lucas Sims was when CIN grabbed him off the scrap heap and turned him into a setup guy.

With Stephenson traded, Reds have 8 arbitration eligible players. They are Goodwin, Casali, Mahle, Winker, Castillo, Lorenzen, Garrett, Bradley.

Non-tender date is a week from today, December 2.

Don’t be shocked to see other deals, non-tenders, and/or signings by Reds in the next week.

So ends the saga of Robert Stephenson as a Red. Not quite what the Reds had hoped for from a #1 draft pick.
