He had a great, ground breaking career in country music and truly seemed to be a good guy.
The article OldRightHander posted mentioned Pride's baseball career. I read elsewhere this morning that Pride hurt his arm while pitching in the pioneers, derailing his MLB dreams. I also read that Pride was once, along with a teammate on a Negro League team, traded to another team for a team bus. Pride later said they were the only players in history to be traded for a used vehicle.
