On January 26th, the BBWAA will announce the results of its 2021 Hall of Fame balloting. Any electees will be inducted on Sunday, July 25th, at 1:30 p.m. at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown.

^The Class of 2020, which features Derek Jeter, Marvin Miller, Ted Simmons and Larry Walker, will also be inducted that day following the cancellation of the 2020 Induction Ceremony due to the pandemic.

Any candidate who receives votes on 75 percent of all ballots cast will earn election to the Hall of Fame. Those who receive fewer than 5 percent of all ballots cast (or whom have been on the ballot for 10 years) will fall off next years' ballot.

Fourteen former players are returning to the 2021 BBWAA ballot after receiving at least five percent of the overall vote in 2020:

    Curt Schilling
    Roger Clemens
    Barry Bonds
    Omar Vizquel
    Scott Rolen
    Billy Wagner
    Gary Sheffield
    Todd Helton
    Manny Ramirez
    Jeff Kent
    Andruw Jones
    Sammy Sosa
    Andy Pettitte
    Bobby Abreu

Eleven additional players will be making their BBWAA Hall of Fame ballot debut in 2021:

    Mark Buerhrle
    A.J. Burnett
    Michael Cuddyer
    Dan Haren
    LaTroy Hawkins
    Tim Hudson
    Torii Hunter
    Aramis Ramirez
    Nick Swisher
    Shane Victorino

So many good choices this year and this year I was left without the decision of who to cut from the 12 worthy candidates I wanted to vote for last year. Helton and Sosa were my "last two in" and I hope we see many guys elected this year. A lot of these guys have "character concerns" but I voted based upon their accomplishments on the diamond.

Rolen, Vizquel and Kent. Infielders usually get the shaft and if they get in it seems it helps Davy's chances with the veterans committee.

At the moment, I’m leaning towards placing a bet on none of them getting in this year.

Re: RedsZone's 2021 BBWAA HOF Ballot Vote

    Ok, I will post mine.
I don't vote for any of the known steroid guys, but I understand the people that would vote for Bonds/Clemens/etc. Not in any particular order

    1. Omar Visquel. World class defender, great hitter for a SS, super longevity.
    2. Kent. Such a great slugger at 2b, a real rarity in his era.
    3. Helton.
    4. Rolen
    5. Billy Wagner. As dominant as the other closers that got in.

    Borderline for me:
    1. Andy Pettite
    2. Abreu
    3. Schilling.. he's got the fame part, not sure he has the numbers. I wouldn't
argue against him, but I probably wouldn't put him on my ballot.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

I may want to take back my Vizquel vote.

I would’ve voted for him as a “going along with the crowd” thing. Now the crowd is probably going to go in reverse with Vizquel...at least for this year. Btw, Andruw Jones doesn’t have a clean record when it comes to domestic issues, yet it seems like a lot of people want to put him nowadays.

If the voters agree with Redszone, no one's getting in.
