What may not be represented in the above chart is that Maryland and Virginia are giving DC a part of their allotment as the feds undercounted DC (many healthcare workers in DC live in VA and MD, and the hospitals in DC get people from the two states as well - my kids in fact were born at a DC hospital even though we lived in MD).
Up another 150,000 or so to 2.32 million. Cali still the leader by a lot even though they didn't report a number.
West Virginia the percentage leader at 1.9%

As of 12/30 PM report 2.67 millions doses administered. So about 350K more in todays report. California's number hasn't changed in a couple days. Still 300K. Two other states have now gone over 200K. Texas and NY.
Two states, SD and WV have moved past the 2% mark.

They did a second update to the Vaccine Dashboard last night. It changed some of the information provided. First, we went over 3 million vaccinated. WV took the percentage lead at 2.18%
But they dropped the 'last updated' column and now have % of shots given. Most are in the 20%'s, some in the 30%'s. SD has the most at 49%. I assume that means that another 49% is being held back for the second dose. In which case they have almost no vaccine to distribute.

Last update for 2020
Vaccinations up to 3,169,818. WV the percentage leader at 2.5%
Unfortunately we may hit a slow period because of holidays.

Intelligencer web site talking about how Canada and UJ are switching to maximize first doses. And that the US is in danger of wasting a great deal of the vaccine by not using it in 30 days.
=====
A group modeling the Canadian rollout suggested that rushing to get as many first doses as possible out, and waiting for new supply to deliver second doses, could avert as many as 34 to 42 percent of new infections, which is why Canada has now embraced that approach — as has the U.K. Here in the U.S., we are continuing to hold back half of the vaccine doses we have, and hardly any state in the country is significantly above 10 percent of that initial allotment — which is to say, 5 percent of available doses. Though refrigeration capacity varies from location to location, vaccines are only cleared for 30 days of storage in the most common units (including those in which they have been shipped).

Maine has given out 51 percent of their allotment, and I have to guess it is actually higher (hard to believe 100 percent of to-date doses are accounted for) or will be higher than that soon.
Are they not holding back the second dose?
Latest Vaccine Dashboard shows 3,489,090. Up about 320K. I assume bunch of those were Texas because they just jumped ahead of California in raw numbers.
WV still the percentage leader at 2.74%

Well the 2nd turned out to be a big day as far as numbers of vaccinations. Up to 4,284,534 up 795,000. I think that's our biggest jump by far. Not sure how much of it was backlogged shots being caught up. First time over 4 million
California back in the lead with 412K shots given. SD oh so close to 3% (2.99) is the percentage leader.

It would take 412 days to give one shot to the entire 330 million person US population at 800k/day. That's not awesome.
True but better than before....

Wow Slow day on the vaccination front. Only up about 44,000 to 4,328,705.
Cali still the leader. Texas edges closer to 1 million.
SD first state to get over 3% inoculated.

I saw somewhere that said Ohio was over 50% in using what has been shipped.
