In my life as a reds fan I can’t really think of one trade where it was rumored before it happened. This sounds like the nats called about Suarez. Meh. Same with Sonny.

Reds don’t really do well in these deals. Ed Yarnall still wants his rotation slot.

He and Paul Darnell. I forgot they were both lefties. Seems like the Reds haven't had much luck with lefties, going back decades.

If they trade one of Gray or Suarez, I'd rather they keep Gray.

It would make sense that anyone thinking of Bryant would call on Suarez to do their due dilligence.

I must say I’m pretty dismayed by this rumor.

I don’t have a lot of faith in the front office to convert Suarez and Gray into equivalent younger and cheaper talent. I really want to be wrong but I’ve seen this movie before and I didn’t like the ending then. Prove me wrong please.

LOL we went ‘all in’ on one season and got knocked out in the wild card without scoring a run.

Let's expand on that. We spent 7 years building up to go "all in" on an expanded playoff team format, finishing as a #7 seed in the weakest pod schedule(no team we played the whole regular season advanced in the playoffs and of all 7 teams that made the playoffs from our pod finished with a 2-14 record in the post season) without scoring a run in the post season. And now it's time to go into rebuild mode again. Can't wait for the 2027 season.

finally fleece other teams in two trades (suarez and gray). sign them both to team-friendly, long-term extensions.
