I think the acquisition of Gray was rumored before it came through

Long and the comp balance pick, but I think rumors of Reds desire to get him were out there. At least that’s my recollection

I honestly do not know who you are talking about. Can you please say the whole trade with first names? I feel like I’m crazy, lol.

He and Paul Darnell. I forgot they were both lefties. Seems like the Reds haven't had much luck with lefties, going back decades.

If they trade one of Gray or Suarez, I'd rather they keep Gray.

3 days ago Rizzo denied that the Nats were pursuing Kris Bryant. He is the leading trade rumor of the offseason.

It would make sense that anyone thinking of Bryant would call on Suarez to do their due dilligence.

I must say I’m pretty dismayed by this rumor.

I don’t have a lot of faith in the front office to convert Suarez and Gray into equivalent younger and cheaper talent. I really want to be wrong but I’ve seen this movie before and I didn’t like the ending then. Prove me wrong please.

Scott Rolen was rumored to the Reds.
Sonny Gray was rumored to the Reds.
Oh, and there was a guy named Griffey, but that was before Redszone was a thing.

Let's expand on that. We spent 7 years building up to go "all in" on an expanded playoff team format, finishing as a #7 seed in the weakest pod schedule(no team we played the whole regular season advanced in the playoffs and of all 7 teams that made the playoffs from our pod finished with a 2-14 record in the post season) without scoring a run in the post season. And now it's time to go into rebuild mode again. Can't wait for the 2027 season.

The Griffey trade was a little before I really started following the reds closely.

finally fleece other teams in two trades (suarez and gray). sign them both to team-friendly, long-term extensions.

and now looking to dump their salaries. this organization is a joke.
