    Ditto for Tom Chambers.

Granted, those early 80's Clippers were often injury-plagued (See Walton, Bill) and out-maned. But the Cummings/Chambers forward pairing proved to be a true match-up nightmare. Both were too big for small forwards to guard and too quick for power forwards. And many have forgotten (or are unaware) that Cummings was voted as Rookie of the Year in '83 - and deservedly so - ahead of both James Worthy and Dominique Wilkins.

Discounting the Buffalo Braves days, I strongly believe that the biggest mistake in franchise history - and their were, of course, many - was the failure to retain and build around Chambers and Cummings, especially in light of the underwhelming returns that the Clips received for each in return when dealt to Seattle and Milwaukee, respectively.

Some notes/news from tonight's slate of games:

    - Saddiq Bey is listed as the starter on Sunday in place of Blake Griffin (knee; injury management).

    - Jarred Vanderbilt will start vs. the Raptors on Sunday.

    - Rodney Hood (left foot sprain) will not play on Sunday vs. the Mavs.

    - Andre Drummond (rest) will not play vs. the Clippers on Sunday.

    - Miles Bridges will start Sunday's game in place of Gordon Hayward (lower back).

    - P.J. Washington (health and safety protocols) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Spurs.

    - OG Anunoby (left calf) has been ruled out of Sunday's contest against the Wolves.

    Per Rotoworld.

Lebron James is a notorious flopper. You might not remember, KP, but James was actually fined for flopping in the 2013 playoffs. He flops all the time.

Hope AD is ok. Didn’t look good, walking off like it’s an Achilles issue.

Blake Griffin being sat by Detroit as they are trying to work out a trade or buy out...

Best in the East (so far) vs. Best in the West (so far) tonight. Jazz are 6 point favorites. I assume Simmons and Mitchell still have their rivalry. Too bad this one isn't on national TV.

If POR was in the East, they'd be in 2nd place with two victories in the last ten days over the 1st place team. If PHI loses tonight, which is highly likely as UTA is cruising, POR will be tied with them in the loss column, PHI @ 18-10 and POR @ 16-10.

I'm guessing he'll go the buy-out route in order to pick the team he wants to play for.

Otherwise, there is absolutely no chance Griffin gets dealt. That contract is too onerous.

I'm guessing he wants to go back to LA, but may be okay with Brooklyn. LA's a good fit-- they can hide him a bit defensively, and he can be a tertiary playmaker. His shot would work okay with Ibaka, Leonard, George, and company too. Brooklyn's fit is a bit more nebulous. They need a defensive wrecking ball, but Nash may see past performance and not be able to resist.

A good fit no one would ever think of might be Utah. Quin Snyder could do some damage with a 25 mpg Blake. I suspect Griffin's too focused on life after basketball to move to Salt Lake City, but he could be a piece to help them win it all.

I don’t see how he’d fit into the rotation in Utah. He would be taking Favors minutes and well Favors is quite a bit better than Blake currently.

I think Griffin would play a hybrid 3/4 with Bogdanovich or (more likely) as a second unit scorer next to Ingles, Clarkson, Favors, and either Conley or Mitchell. (He'd take a few minutes from O'Neale and most of Niang's.)

NBA 2020-21: The Final Covid-19 Season?

Here's an idea: Blake Griffin returns home...Well, back to his home state:

    To Detroit

    Al Horford
    Darius Miller
    Aleksej Pokusevski
    Mike Muscala

    To Oklahoma City

    Blake Griffin
    Mason Plumlee
    Isaiah Stewart

And if I'm Troy Weaver, I HATE the idea of dealing Stewart, but reluctantly do so in this case.
