What was the reason for Larkin switching from 15 to 11?

#11 became available in 1988 when Kurt Stillwell was traded to the Royals. I heard an anecdote once that Larkin wanted to wear #1, but since it was retired he took #11 ("double-1") when it became available. No idea if there is any truth to it, though.

Ed Bailey over Edwards for sure, better hitter, better player. Edwards won 2 GG, in a league that wasn't rich with catchers at all

Here's a tough one, truly undecidable, at least for me, #16. Sheldon goes with Temple, but what about Cardenas. Temple 9 yrs. with Reds: .291/.372/.361/.733. Cardenas, also 9 years with Reds: .261/.313/.377/.690. Cardenas the better defender at more premium position.
