And that peak will not vary much if at all based on whether masks are mandated. It'll run its course regardless

The rising fastest states are all now in the South (mostly). Nevada is in that group too.

Re: Monitoring the 7 Day Covid Trend Line. Looking for a peak

Sorry, meant to post in this thread:

Looks like Alabama has peaked already. Shorter than last year's wave there. Look for Florida to start peaking in about 3-4 days. Maybe early next week? Texas will probably be another week or so behind (5-10 days).

After the South calms down, I'm assuming Great Lakes states would be the next. California is starting another wave too so we'll see how big that gets.

Which site are you looking at for state by state? I'd be interested in checking it out.

    https://covidestim.org/

If you look at the Rt graphs, you can see all the Sun Belt are peaking or have already peaked while the upper midwest/Great Lakes are still rising. Doesn't mean cases won't peak, but the growth rate is slowing.

I'm not seeing that Alabama has peaked. What day are you seeing as their peak?

Again, it's not cases. . . yet. Click on the "Effective Reproductions" tab. The rate of infections is decreasing meaning the case count will soon decrease.
